Isis Rampf repeatedly poses in her works the question of the common and the connection of the individual to the common. In her mid-length documentary ALLESANDERSPLATZ (2021), she observed the cooperation of artists and social workers on their way to create a diverse city in an old GDR building. And the feature film OBEN OHNE (WHERE YOU FIND ME), developed in a collective, narrates through multiple perspectives the story of two women who support each other for the right to their own bodies. With her stories she tells utopias that make existing socio-political problems visible. But not only as a writer and director, but also as a producer, she follows this path and engages with new forms of storytelling.
Before directing films she studied literature, art and media studies in Constance, Cork and Potsdam. Alongside she worked in film editorial offices, production companies and as assistant director. After that she started to develop and direct own video and film works. Since summer 2023 she is a graduate of the Master Film program at ifs international filmschool Cologne. Her graduation film OBEN OHNE is currently in postproduction. Next to that she researches and develops together with director and author Markus Imhoof the screenplay for the project SOLL UND HABEN (WT) and is participant of the Into The Wild Mentoring program 2023/24 with her new feature film project GEFÄHRTINNEN (COMPANIONS).
